You could very reasonably argue that a frontline beach setting such as that of La Morera Playa, Marbella East, which looks out over a very private stretch of beach, is like having a section of protected nature right in front of you. Add a private parkland of four acres of landscaped gardens that encircle your apartment or penthouse, and you begin to understand that this is a very low-density living environment – a privileged rarity in any beachside location these days, let alone in Marbella!

To add to this, the gated community of La Morera Playa is also very private in its setting, ensconced between tall trees from the access side. Pass the coastal road and you head inland between golf courses. By the time you cross over the toll road, just a few kilometres further, the scenery has already begun to take on a rustic look, and once set within the foothills of the coastal mountain ranges you’re free to roam, hike, mountain bike or even ride horses between natural wooded groves.

The mountain scenery that extends from here beyond the charming mountain village of Ojén and the La Concha Mountain that towers above Marbella, form part of the most recently declared National Park in Spain. It is an extensive area known as the Sierra de las Nieves – Snowy Mountain Range named for the spectacular winter coat this reserve receives in January and February.

Protected coastal reserves

But there is more in the way of nature reserves at just a short distance from La Morera Playa, and it takes the form of a coastal area this time. Just a little east of your home in this beautiful development is the Artola reserve, a protected littoral area near the Cabopino Marina that is made up not only of pretty umbrella pine groves, and lofty dunes, but also extends offshore to include the important marine ecological system in this part of the shoreline.

With so many golf courses, parks, beaches and nature reserves surrounding you, living in La Morera Playa certainly surpasses the usual frontline beach setting.
