La Morera Playa: The world at your feet

Wake up, let the curtains or shades slide open and reveal the shimmering light of the sun on the waves. The Mediterranean Sea stretches out in front of you, shimmering in the sunlight all the way to the horizon. Look down and you see manicured gardens rolling out towards a large swimming pool and sun deck, beyond which the lawns of La Morera Playa in Marbella extend right to the beach.

The gated complex of La Morera Playa lies at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac that leads to the sandy beach. It’s a peaceful area with very little passing traffic, and it is this sense of peace and tranquillity that creates a rare and precious sense of seclusion in a frontline beach location in Marbella East. When you are within your home, or the 10,000m2 of lush gardens that make up La Morera Playa, it is entirely possible to feel like you’re on your own island, but in reality a whole world of options lies close by.

Sport, dining, shopping, nature…

Whether your needs are practical or leisure orientated, there are many options available nearby, from the English International School in El Rosario to the Deutsche Schule and the Colegio Alborán (both in nearby La Mairena) to shopping at La Cañada, Puerto Banús and downtown Marbella, where you will also find many law and accounting firms, as well as excellent private clinics.

Santa Clara Golf, Río Real and the Marbella Golf Club are the three beautiful courses on your doorstep in Marbella East, with yacht marinas in Marbella and Cabopino, and the Real Club de Ténis in El Rosario ranking among the finest on the Costa del Sol. There is even a horse-riding centre just a few minutes away, and lots of wonderful countryside to explore in the surrounding hills. Step out of La Morera Playa and you’re on the finest beaches in the region, with sandy dunes close by.

Places to meet

Quite apart from the fact that the golf and tennis clubs mentioned have elegant restaurants and panoramic cafés of their own, you will also want to try elegant beach club restaurants such Trocadero Arena, La Cabane (part of the iconic five-star Hotel Los Monteros) and La Plage Casanis. Chill out for the day at South Beach, Bono Beach and Estrella del Mar, or opt for the refined simplicity of Sylt.

For quality beachside dining, try Palm Beach, The Beach House or, for a particular treat, The Playwright or La Scala, local dining institutions that will make you want to stay close to home – though venture further east into Elviria, Cabopino and La Cala de Mijas, and your options almost match those on offer in nearby Marbella town.
