One of the many delicious advantages of owning a frontline beach property in Marbella with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and the sunsets behind Gibraltar and Morocco is the fact that you have direct access to it all – the sand, the water, surfing, trendy beach venues and of course the coastal pathways.

You might have guessed that you can stroll onto a beachside promenade from La Morera Playa that will take you in either direction to a selection of beaches, restaurants, surf and jet-ski centres, beach clubs and chiringuito bars on the sand, but there’s more – almost 180 kilometres more and counting.

Spectacular coastal walks

When it is all completed, the entire shoreline from Sotogrande in the west to Málaga in the east will be connected with a pedestrian pathway also used by cyclists, joggers, dogwalkers, roller skaters and romantic couples out to catch the sunset.

Along the way they will pass picnickers, fitness groups, beach yoga sessions, volleyball matches in progress as well as more languidly relaxed beachgoers and those enjoying a drink or snack at one of the many venues that stretch along 14 municipalities.

Most of this coastal network of pathways is already in use, and you can stroll past beaches, dune formations, pine groves, follow little bridges across streams and ponds where it is possible to spot fish, turtles and a variety of birdlife, including ducks, geese, seagulls, herons and more.

At such points there are usually information signs describing the fauna and flora of the region, and if you’re really lucky you may even catch sight of whales or dolphins out at sea. Stop for a drink and watch the spectacular sunsets, or simply count the yachts, jet-skis and surfers on the waves.

It’s a wonderful resource for nature lovers, fitness freaks and those of a romantic bent, ensuring you can walk all the way from your luxurious home in La Morera Playa at Los Monteros beach to Marbella centre or along the finest beaches of the Costa del Sol towards Elviria.
